Home Performance Contracting

Few homes in the US have been constructed with energy efficiency in mind, and many homeowners have problems with drafty rooms, inconsistent temperatures between rooms, ventilation, humidity, and high energy bills. Installing a new heating or air conditioning system, buying replacement windows, or adding more insulation may fix part of the problem. The way to better results is through an integrated "whole-house" approach that looks at your house as a system.

Ecohouse offers a comprehensive method of improving the comfort and energy efficiency of your home. Using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, Ecohouse will inspect your home, locate potential problems and recommend improvements that will yield the best results. Ecohouse can also complete these energy saving improvements.

Step 1: Home Comfort and Energy Assessment

Using blower door, infrared camera and gas monitoring technology and tools, Ecohouse identifies health and comfort issues and sources of high energy consumption, including: air leaks, insufficient insulation, moisture, defective ducts, gas leaks, carbon monoxide, ventilation, and inefficient lighting and appliances. The assessment data is analyzed and a report is generated to determine your home's optimum performance, options and costs for a customized solution.

Our comprehensive Home Energy Assessment takes 3-4 hours.

The cost is $450 for a complete Home Energy Assessment and follow-up report.

By hiring Ecohouse to perform the suggested improvements on your home, you will receive a rebate of $50, so the total cost for the Assessment would be $400.

$450 - $50 rebate = $400 for Ecohouse Home Energy Assessment

You may be eligible for a rebate from your gas or electric utility. Energy efficiency rebates are currently available from First Energy/Ohio Edison and Columbia Gas of Ohio. Federal tax credits are also available. Contact Ecohouse for details about these programs.

Step 2: Recommendations

After fully assessing your home, an Ecohouse advisor will provide options and costs for a customized solution. They will then assist you in selecting the energy improvements that will be the best investments for your home and family.
